A Cafe in Nishihara, Shibuya

Asia, Japan, Tokyo

Tucked away in a quiet residential area of Shibuya, I stumbled upon a charming little café in Nishihara that completely exceeded my expectations. I followed my boyfriend here without any plans or expectations, and I’m so glad I did because the coffee and ambiance were *chefs kisses*.

I’ll be the first to admit—I’m no coffee connoisseur. The café had a menu full of single-origin beans, all light roast, and at first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection and terminology. Thankfully, the barista was incredibly patient, taking the time to explain the different beans and making recommendations based on my preferences (in English, might I add). I noticed she did this for all customers, which I think is a great personal touch.

I decided to try the Milan coffee, which came with tasting notes of cantaloupe and melon (definitely not what I expected from a coffee!). When I got my latte, I was genuinely surprised by how it had such a distinct melon-like flavor without any syrup or added flavoring.

At $13 CAD, it was on the pricier side (with coffees ranging from 1100 yen to 3000 yen), but the quality and care put into each cup make the price worth it.

The outdoor seating added to the café’s charm. With plenty of casual spots that felt like sitting in someone’s front yard, the vibe was relaxed and cozy—perfect for a quiet afternoon in Shibuya.
