Things I’m unreasonably obsessed with right now 🌞 April 2025 Favourites

This month, I’ve been focused less on physical things—and more on experiences, tools, and small routines that actually make life better while traveling. I’m traveling light (carry-on only!), so every favorite had to earn its spot in my life.

Here’s what I’ve been loving in April:

Painting Workshops

I visited a vibey cafe-art studio that offers food-themed painting workshops. Shawn and I painted adorable waffles and toast—texture painting with butter details included. It felt so refreshing to do something totally outside my work.

Exploring Cafes + Restaurants

Sometimes leaving the house is the reset button I didn’t know I needed. I’ve been intentionally visiting new cafes and restaurants, which helps me break out of a work-from-home rut and rediscover small joys.

Passion Projects: Reimagining a Pomodoro Timer

Shawn and I are building a new productivity tool—something we’re calling a reimagined Pomodoro timer. It blends how I work as a creative with how he thinks as an engineer. It’ll launch soon on iOS.

The Journal I Finally Finished

This is the one journal that stuck. I’ve been using it since August, and it’s become my brain dump, planner, sticker book, and travel scrapbook. No rules = consistent journaling = better mental health.

Spontaneous Friend Dates

From casual coffee catch-ups to last-minute dinners, I’ve been embracing unplanned hangouts. It’s a huge shift from the “book 2 weeks in advance” energy of Vancouver life—and honestly, it feels so freeing.

Getting Clothes Tailored Instead of Tossed

I found a local seamstress in Da Nang and brought a few ill-fitting clothes back to life. It made me rethink how quick I’ve been to donate things instead of repairing them.

Google Calendar Scheduling Tool

I switched from Calendly to Google’s new scheduling feature built into Calendar. If you’re deep in the Google ecosystem like me, it’s free and works seamlessly for me as a design studio owner.

Current R&B Playlist Vibes

I’m ending this month dancing around to the “Loverboy” R&B playlist on Spotify—vibey, soulful, just-right for moody mornings and golden hour editing sessions.

Thanks for watching (and reading!). If you’re vibing with the minimalist, intentional lifestyle this season too, I’d love to hear what’s been on your favorites list.
